ZEROES AND ONES
Zeroes and Ones challenges the conventional parameters of a synthpop album, surprising listeners from track to track with a diversity of pop references from the 1980s, The Beatles and beyond, whilst still sounding uniquely Space March.
From macro to micro, the album’s lyrical subject matter traverses existential postulations, such as data mining and the “AI-tocracy” explored in the title track, to poetic introspection, through to good old-fashioned ripping yarns.
Despite its lofty concepts, Zeroes and Ones maintains a balance of humour and playfulness, making it the sort of “art pop” album you might actually want to listen to.

Can see what you do
I’m the front of the line
But the back of the queue
I feel like I’m inside and out
It’s a novel idea
But is it understood
Just cause you can
Doesn’t mean that you should
Where will it take us to now?
I can’t believe I’m to be sold
My data points are all but known
In the end, we’re all just zeroes and ones
Planet Earth’s a shopping bag
My given name’s a meta tag
In the end, we’re all just zeroes and ones
Do you know what it means
To live by a code
How does it feel
When you’re the mother lode?
Think now, what is this all for?
When decisions are made
You can rest assured
An AI program
Has a plan for us all
Will you reach your highest score?
I can’t believe I’m in the zone
I’m digitised and over thrown
In the end, we’re all just zeroes and ones
My dossier is now complete
My human self is obsolete
In the end, we’re all just zeroes and ones
Zeroes and ones
Zeroes and ones
Zeroes and ones
Zeroes and ones
I can’t believe I’m to be sold
My data points are all but known
In the end, we’re all just zeroes and ones
Planet Earth’s a shopping bag
My given name’s a meta tag
In the end, we’re all just zeroes and ones
You better run baby run
Like you’re in Berlin
Put it all on the red
Now watch it spin
Faced with a choice
From this mess you’re in
You defy it
What do you know?
You’ve got to run for your life
Stand up in the night
Feel like there’s nothing left
At the end
Run baby run
Do you know what you’ve done?
Run baby run
You better run baby run
Got to take it in
Feel every beat
Let the game begin
Faced with a choice
At the point of sin
You deny it
What do you know?
You’ve got to run for your life
Stand up in the night
Feel like there’s nothing left
At the end
Run, run baby run
For you know
Not what you’ve done
You better run baby run
Take it on the chin
Feel every knock
Like a kick in the shins
Faced with a choice
From the bind you’re in
You untie it
What do you know?
You’ve got to run for your life
Stand up in the night
Feel like there’s nothing left
At the end
Run, run baby run
For you know
Not what you’ve done
You’re getting upset
You’re anxious inside
You cannot forget
It’s happened before
Could happen again
The feeling just rises
Thoughts of the end
Forget what the mind says
It’s all wired into your head
Forget what the mind says
Erase what you’ve just read
Forget what the mind says
It’s all lost inside your head
Forget what the mind says
You’ll be fine, you’re not dead
You’re mind’s in a loop
It will not leave
Your heart rate rises
You cannot breathe
There’s sweat on your brow
The deepest of wells
Anticipation all round
Nervous as hell
Forget what the mind says
It’s all wired into your head
Forget what the mind says
Erase what you’ve just read
Forget what the mind says
It’s all lost inside your head
Forget what the mind says
You’ll be fine, you’re not dead
Oh, forget what the mind says…
What’s your name?
Like a little lost child
Like girls gone mild
Oh, I’m the same
Feeling so bad
Getting kind of mad
Forget what the mind says
Forget what the mind says
Forget what the mind says
Forget what the mind says
Oh, forget what the mind says…
Just look into my eyes
It’s back again
I see it in your soul
You can’t pretend now
It will be alright
There, somewhere, you go
I see it in your eyes
The answer’s “no”
I never understand
Just how this goes now
It will be alright
This might be the one
And it will come
And it might take all-day
Always on my mind
There is no sign
There is no other way
It’s alright, you said
Try to let it pass
You must forget
The circuit in your mind
That’s in regret now
It will be alright
This might be the one
And it will come
And it might take all-day
Always on my mind
There is no sign
There is no other way
It will be alright
It will be alright
It will be alright
This might be the one…
Looking back at us
And anything that’s written on the wall
And everything we touch
There’s a light that’s shining in your eyes
Blinded by belief
Glowing like a beacon in your mind
With everything you see
Before we knew
The mirror’s inside of you
After it all somehow
Cycled the past into now
There’s a mirror on the door
Looking back at us
An endless echo to your call
For any god you trust
There’s a place you always tend to go
But never want to see
A monument covered in the snow
You don’t ask what it means
Before we knew
The mirror’s inside of you
After it all somehow
Cycled the past into now
There’s a mirror on the door
Looking back at us
Drawing you across an open floor
Transit into dust
Before we knew
The mirror’s inside of you
After it all somehow
Cycled the past into now
There’s a mirror on the door
Looking back at us
Capturing the motion of your fall
And everything you clutch
There’s a mirror on the door
Looking back at us
This is it and that is all
And this is what we must
This is what we must
I’m going down, town
I ordered a roll with everything on
And then I asked her out
She was the top of the line
She was the top of her tree
Really quite beautiful
A little bit sweet
But something inside
Was obsessing after me
She saw me talking to another girl
That was bad, news
She spat on my food
And poisoned my juice
She was mad, too
The ambulance came
And took me away
They pumped out my stomach
And it seemed like days
I said goodbye to the burgers
And the pain
It’s those little things
That make you sad
And jealousy
Will make you mad
Yeah, jealousy
Will eat you up
and send you mad
Two years went by then I saw her again
Looking sad, and ill
She bit off my head
Said “why do you care?”
She was mad, still
The doctor came
And took me away
He stitched up my head
In several ways
Another time, another place,
Another day
It’s those little things
That make you sad
And jealousy
Will make you mad
Yeah, jealousy
Will eat you up
and send you mad
I found love in a takeaway store
I’m going down, uh huh
Oh, I found love
I’m going down
I walked for miles and I turned around
And I’ll never understand these things
What would Prudence think and I’ll
Always wonder why
At 2am it’s getting late and I
Better sleep sometime
And I’ll never understand these things
What would she think and I’ll
Always wonder why
When Prudence comes
She doesn’t know me quite so well
When Prudence comes
I feel much better in myself
When Prudence comes
I cannot think of anyone else
I didn’t know what to do
Like cancer this obsession grew
And I tried almost everything
To rid this sin and I
Went to London too
Nothing ventured, nothing gained but I
Couldn’t get it right
And I’ll never understand these things
What would she think and I’ll
Always wonder why
When Prudence comes
She doesn’t know me quite so well
When Prudence comes
I feel much better in myself
When Prudence comes
I cannot think of anyone else
An image lasts to the end
Memories fade and so do friends
Forever I rebuild this face
With plastic paint and I
Gave her life again
When Prudence comes
She doesn’t know me quite so well
When Prudence comes
I feel much better in myself
When Prudence comes
I cannot think of anyone else
It’s my human obligation
Take an office chair vacation
For a canine exploration
There’s a world out there
Aromas in the air
A message in the breeze
The walls and on the trees
There’s a place in your mind
On that walk you will find
No demands of a job
Just some space and your dog
There’s a paw of expectation
Make a park your destination
Where there’s public defecation
And some awkward conversation
As you bag the mess
You turn and hold your breath
She’s pulling on the lead
Yeah, it’s a sorry scene
There’s a place you will go
Everyday there’s a show
No demands of a job
Just some time with your dog
Just some time
With your dog
With your dog
There’s a paw of expectation
It’s a careful operation
Every smell’s an invitation
For a yellow saturation
Till there is no doubt
Not a drop is coming out
It’s time to stop the roam
Return, we’re going home
There’s a place in your mind
On that walk you will find
No demands of a job
Just some space and your dog
Always generating complication
Time and tide had landed on her side
She needed therapy more than love
She couldn’t see what she’d become
Doctor, my friend
I feel a little weak
And I can’t comprehend
What is happening to me
I try to contend
With the world upon my shoulders
She had this feeling
Once again
A speeding car
A hairpin bend
He needed therapy more than masturbation
More reality, less stimulation
Time and tide had landed on his side
He needed therapy more than love
He couldn’t see what he’d become
Doctor, my friend
I feel a little weak
And I can’t comprehend
What is happening to me
I try to contend
With the world upon my shoulders
He had this feeling
Once again
A speeding car
A hairpin bend
They needed therapy more than separation
More togetherness, less aggravation
Time and tide had landed on their side
They needed therapy more than some
They couldn’t see what they’d become
Doctor, our friend
We feel a little weak
And we can’t comprehend
What is happening to us
We try to contend
With the world upon our shoulders
They had this feeling
Once again
A speeding car
A hairpin bend
